In music or music theory a ninth is the note nine scale degrees from the root of chord (counting the root itself) and also the interval between the root and the ninth.
In tonal music of common practice, the interval of a ninth is heard as a dissonance. A ninth is a compound second, but the ninth is considered less dissonant than the second.
A ninth chord is a chord with a ninth, and as an extended chord typically includes the seventh along with the basic triad structure. Thus, a Cmaj9 consists of C E G B and D. When the symbol "9" is not preceded by the word "major" or "maj", the implied seventh is a minor seventh -- e.g. a C9 consists of C E G Bb and D.
Music, is the language of the movement of sound. The same principles apply to Martial Arts. Music is cyclical as is the nature of sound itself and of all life. While we may think in terms of Harmony or discord when it come to an orchestra, we can also think of a Martial engagement in the same manner. Blending is a term that is used to indicate that when an attack is launched we the Wu Chi practioner joins in the foray and plays the same tune and then at the moment that is most advantages we strike a different chord. The timing and choice is up to the practioner but the principle remains the same. Our change disrupts the attackers own harmony or disharmony as in the case of an attack and begins working on countering manuevers that nuetralize or cancles out their wave forms until Harmony is restored.
