“There is nothing lacking in you, and you yourself are no different from the Buddha. Be boundless and absolutely free from all conditions. Be free to go in any direction you like. Do not act to do good, nor to pursue evil. Whether you walk or stay, sit or lie down, all are the wonderful activity of the Great Enlightened One. It is all joy, free from anxiety—it is called "Wu Chi.”
-Tao Hsin
We are not a commercial school. We are not beholden to rent and utilities. This means that the School can truly focus on you the student and not have a care about entertaining the general public in order to avoid going out of business. We fight like we train. Truth, not lies, are our banner. We will not accomodate a weak mind, we will guide the student in strengthening and progressively training their will and their focus, their body, functional agility, and strength. We will do this year in and year out. We will not tell you that you can master yourself and achieve your potential by paying us $400 for a week long workshop. We will in fact tell you that it is a daily ritual of on-going conscientious fulfilling effort! So, when you train with Wu Chi Chaun, expect the best and you will get it!

Dedicated Martial Artists seeking to refine our skill to the highest possible level.
Wuji (philosophy) (無極), a concept in Chinese Philosophy and Taoism meaning "the void", as opposed to TaiJi (太極), "the Ultimate". It is closely related to the Taoist concept of Wu wei. Wuji or Dao (道) is a state of Hunyuan Yiqi (混元一炁) in which Hunyuan is the Chinese equivalent of primordial, Yiqi is the one qi the original state of qi, together Hunyuan Yiqi is loosely the primordial qi.
As can be seen from the following training itinerary(lower on this page), there is a very defined progression for the practitioner to follow in order to insure the comprehensiveness of their training. No style, nor instructor is any better than the students they produce. This art has survived for now more than 357 generations to co-exist with humanity literally for thousands of years. It has done so by investing in each generation an awe-inspiring gratitude for the benifits and wisdom brought by the instruction.
It is true that as a fighting style it is and can be extremely brutal. It is because of extensive study of Anatomy and Biomechanics, Psychology etc... This is not an easy art to learn due to its comprehensiveness.
Most importantly the Strength of the Art itself comes from the understanding that the human is the strongest of all other animals because we are most adaptable throughout the most ranges of possible expressions. It is not in our specializations that we overcome obstacles; it is in our ability to learn new and different tactics. You see Wu Chi Chaun refines this ability in its students. We learn the principles and adapt to the necessary form as it is required in the moment.
If you were an experienced martial artist and were to happen upon a Wu Chi Chuan school you would most likely mistake it for a different school. Depending on the day or level of students we were training, it might look like Karate-do, and on another day Jui Jitsu or Tai Chi. Wu Chi Chuan is frequently accused, even by those who know of its traditions, as an art that will practice other arts within its own curriculum. While on the suface this is true, it is not for the purpose of incorporating a variety of different styles into Wu Chi Chuan itself. It is to better comprehend the principles as they are taught by showing how they can manifest in other styles. Wu Chi Chuan is, by its very nature, inclusive. No thing is not included. Get it? All manefestation is sacred!
Defensive strategies: "1 is 2, 2 is 5, 5 is 10, 10 is 10,000" Wuchi Chuan has a highly developed multiple attaker defense strategy.
Wu Chi Chuan is a Non-agressive art.
Multiple opponent oriented training includes all ranges of techniques which also includes grappling and ground fighting. The difference is that for a Wu Chi Chuan practitioner there is no difference in whether the fight is standing or on the ground. Our techniques can be brutal and devastating because in a multiple opponent scenario one does not wish to exhaust themselves by being tied up with one individual. If that happens, the fight is conclusively over because the other opponents can easily smash in any one of your vital areas. Tying up in a grappleing match is simply a poor strategy and nothing more. Therefore, dispite the mixed martial art craze occuring in the early 21st century, it is a bad idea. And for a Wu Chi Chaun practitioner a fatal strategic mistake.
